“Delivering Hope” Primary School Student Hepatitis Education Program is the first hepatitis prevention health project which combine education system. Lasting from 2007 to 2009, the program covered 451 schools, and 110,000 primary school students and 6000 primary school teachers. Through this program, hepatitis education has been popularized into families and communities and has benefited more than 600,000.
Wang Zhao, deputy secretary-general of China Foundation for Hepatitis Prevention and Control (CFHPC) said: “ This program helps us to deepen and promote the concept of disease prevention in schools as well as training some professionals in hepatitis prevention course.”
The programme initiatives to date have been very successful. Millions of individuals, living in areas disproportionately impacted by hepatitis across Asia, have benefitted from Delivering Hope-related awareness programmes.
